The purpose of this Donor Privacy Policy is to provide transparency as to CoNorth’s practices, policies, and procedures for the collection use and protection of information relating to donors and prospective donors.

This Donor Privacy Policy applies to the collection, use and protection of information, including information collected on our website. By submitting your information to us or any of our staff, you consent to the terms and conditions of the Policy and to our processing personal information for the purposes stated below.

Information Collected

Here are the types of donor information that we collect and maintain. We collect the information if you: provide it to us on our website; if you contact us in person, via phone or email; if you register for one of our events; and if you make a contribution. From time to time, we may also collect personal information in ways not described above.

• Name, organization, complete mailing address, email address, phone numbers;
• Amounts donated, date of donation(s), method, and stimulus;
• Non-personally identifiable information, such as how many hits the CoNorth website receives and if the visitor is repeat or new; this requires that a ‘cookie’ be sent to your web browser.

How Your Information is Used

• Use of your information is limited to internal purposes of CONORTH, and only to further the mission of CONORTH.
• We use your information to maintain records of donations, send acknowledgements, mail year-end tax statements, send newsletters, notices and direct mail pieces, and for internal marketing purposes. We add you to our mailing list unless you request otherwise (see “Opting Out”).
• We DO NOT list individual’s names in any of our publications or reports. Corporate and Foundation sponsors are listed in our Annual Report and event programs.
• We may occasionally use your written comments and letters—anonymously—in our marketing materials or on our website.
• We will collect payment information, billing address and other information necessary to process a donation or event registration. Credit card numbers are NOT retained by CONORTH; our website has a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate.
• Donations over $5,000 must be reported on IRS Form 990, Schedule B.
• We will use your information to comply with the law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to the requirements of the law or comply with legal process served on us.
• We will use the personal information to protect against potential fraud. We may verify with third parties the information collected in the course of processing a gift, event registration or other donation. If you use a credit or debit card on the website, we may use card authentication and fraud screening services to verify that your card information and address matches the information that you supplied to us and that the card being used has not been reported lost or stolen.
• CONORTH takes appropriate measures to secure your personal information but security measures may not prevent all losses, and CONORTH is not responsible for any damages or liabilities related to security failures.

How Your Information WILL NOT Be Used

• We will not sell, trade or share your personal information with anyone else, collected on our website or through any other business activities;
• We will not send you any communication on behalf of any other organization.
